Re-published – Near Death by Police
I’m so tired of pretending like it’s not that bad, when I know it really is just that bad. Black men and women all over the country being accosted or worse killed at the hands of the police officers. I didn’t want to blog another incident. But you have to say something L.A. on incidents where 44-year old Bernard Scott arrested for traffic violations and ends up in a coma.
St. Louis Police blocked paramedics (they called) from taking him to emergency for abdominal pains and bleeding. It was reported that a police officer who had already changed in to his street clothes to accompany the inmate, was shut down by his supervisor. Paramedics from Northeast Fire Protection District begged the police to allow the transport but were flatly refused. Paramedics were called back just fourteen minutes later, and the St. Louis Police department claimed that Mr. Scott had hung himself in his cell with a shoestring.
Lies! And Mr. Scott lived to speak about it, basically saying why would he hang himself over traffic tickets. This is so ridiculous L.A., I had to Say Something. You should Say Something too.
Tom Brady’s back to playing football. He is talented, but L.A. do we think for one moment that this 4 x Super Bowl Champion, 3x Super Bowl MVP who throws the football to make a living didn’t know the football he was using was under-regulation standard. Tom says “he always plays within the rules.” As good as he is, he must have not been to sure of his abilities or the rules.
May 6, 2015, the NFL published a 243-page report basically saying “Terrific Tom” knew about the use of the deflated footballs in the AFC Championship game. Some ports analysts are saying, well he doesn’t have show his texts messages. It’s really sad that a quarterback of this caliber cannot just be stand-up, turn-over his phone records and be done with it, especially if you didn’t know anything.
On May 11, Brady was suspended for four games by the NFL for his involvement based on “substantial and credible evidence” that Brady knew Patriots employees were deflating footballs and that he failed to cooperate with investigators. The decision was overturned by Judge Richard Burman making Tom eligible to play week one. He got permission (from who) to appeal his case. Remember Spygate where the Patriots were caught taping other teams signals. The taping was reported to have gone on from 2000 – 2007. When did Brady start with the Pats! It just seems a little suspicious. I mean other athletes get in to a situation there suspended, jailed, etc. In other words there are repercussions. And, celebs from Boston, all over the TV saying their deflaters.
Tom this is your craft, respect is earned from mastering it, being the best in the game at the game. Quarterbacks have the most prestigious position on the field; I don’t know L.A. the legacy of the Patriots is a little deflated. So…L.A. let’s talk about this!
Tennis Star James Blake, once ranked number four in the world as a professional player, was attacked by some of NYPD’s finest. Officer James Frascatore “slammed” Blake to the ground and handcuffed him in a case of mistaken identity. They had a witness, so without questioning him or asking him if they could speak with him, the policeman tackled him to the ground, and his brothers in blue helped him cover up what he did. Police Commissioner Bill Bratton says it wasn’t racially motivated. He fit the description the suspect “looks like the twin brother of Mr. Blake.” Well…he wasn’t his twin. The crime that he was allegedly suspected of was credit card theft not murder. So what warranted this man being thrown to the ground, without a word to him.
The police officer could have asked him some questions, possibly allowing him to provide you with his I.D. show you the U.S. Open card he had in his pocket. But according to Bratton, race had nothing to do with it. Eric Garner got choked to death for pedaling cigarettes. I guess we should THANK GOD you weren’t murdered. Bratton, says it wasn’t race related, but James Blake thought it was and he kept talking about it, which is the only reason the situation was addressed. There are some good police out there…somewhere. Race related, we can’t always say that’s the case, but a lot of times in urban communities, it fits the description. What do you think, SaySomethingLA.
So, I’m just catching bits and pieces of this conversation. Caitlyn (Bruce) Jenner was on the Ellen Show. I’m not sure if aired today or yesterday. Somehow marriage came up, and basically Caitlyn said as a traditionalist, marriage is between a man and a woman; however, she would never stand in the way of any ones happiness. Ellen said it was confusing but she looked kind of pissed, and went on the Howard Stern show and stated that she was taken aback. Caitlyn (Bruce) Jenner said, “If that word ‘marriage’ is really, really that important to you, I can go with it.” Ellen response and I’m just giving my take were you wanting people to accept you, and yet you stand in judgment of me. I like Matthew 7, on a lot of the policies of today. Was there some hypocrisy going on, or does a man who now wants to be a woman get to be against same sex marriage. It was confusing or was it just me…Say Something L.A.
Hey L.A. I know I’m late, but I saw it opening week twice. And, this movie is OMG, so good. OMG aka O’Shea Jackson Jr.-Ice Cube, Jason Mitchell-Easy E, Aldis Hodge-MC Wren, and Cory Hawkins as Dr. Dre. I love this movie. Who knew Easy didn’t want to rap, I mean I didn’t say oh he’s just so dope, but you kinda fell into the lyric and the beat. And as a whole the culture of Gangsta wrap was addictive. The movie gave us a lot of insight. Some things were a little different then we may remember but a lot of it was authentic, and that’s why this movie is so powerful.
MC Wren you may not have been on the trailer, but your character is all up in the movie and people get your creative role in NWA. It is just one of the best stories ever told.
This is going to be one of the classics. To the producers the original OG Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, F. Gary Gray. “Phenomenal!” So if you saw it L.A., good or bad say something.
This is a excellent movie! Worth your dollars. It’s action, I was dodging punches in my seat. It’s heartwarming, tears people. Kudos to Jake Gyllenhaal and Forest Whitaker. “Y’all Did That” Go see it, and Say Something L.A.
Los Angeles County has some beautiful weather and beautiful cities. But, we also have a gang problem. Some young people are born in to gangs. Some choose to join and their jumped in to the gang, and they rep their hoods like they actually own the block. I’ve met gang members that are intelligent and polite individuals. And yet some gang members (no gang in particular) become murderers. Taking the lives of young children who are not even associated with gangs. Killing young fathers that have no gang ties, young men who were just on the way to school, just going to work, hanging out with their children.
I know some guys that have a part of normal family nucleus and join gangs. And some that are in “dysfunctional” or one parent households that don’t go near gangs. I know that the streets can be a powerful attraction, but murdering people you don’t even know, tearing some Mother’s heart out, destroying families. People that have the same issues you do. I remember one youngster saying “you sound like my Mom,” and I said and she loves you (and he agreed). I have to ask why L.A?
To the gang members (no gang in particular) I would say Love yourself, Value yourself. I would say, please STOP this. You deserve to do so much more with your life.
Say Something L.A. What do think about this senseless challenge to just kill 100 people.
